This notice explains what BrightSide Property Care does with your personal information when you get a quote, become a customer, or contact us through brightsidewindows.co.uk. Last updated 27 August 2026.

Who we are

BrightSide Property Care provides window and property cleaning services. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at admin@brightsidewindows.co.uk.

What we collect and why

  • Getting a quote — your name, email, phone number and the address to be cleaned, so we can price the work and reply to you.
  • Becoming a customer — the above plus your service address, access notes and visit history, so we can turn up and do the job properly.
  • Payments — handled by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own secure pages and are never seen or stored by us; we keep only the last four digits and card type so you can recognise the card.
  • Contacting us — your name, the contact details you give us and your message, so we can answer.
  • Photographs — our cleaners may photograph completed work as a record. Photographs of your property are visible to you in your account.

Our lawful bases

We process your information to perform our contract with you (quotes, visits, payments), for our legitimate interests in running and improving the service and preventing fraud, and to meet legal obligations such as keeping accounting records. Marketing messages, where we send them, rely on your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.

Advertising cookies also rely on your consent, and on nothing else. We ask before any of them are set, and if you say no or say nothing then none are. You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie settings button, which you can reach from anywhere on the site.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Our hosting and email providers — to run the website and send you service messages.
  • An SMS provider — where you have asked for text reminders.
  • Facebook (Meta) — only if you accept advertising cookies. Your browser then tells Facebook which pages you opened on this site and, if you fill in a form, a scrambled copy of the name, email address and phone number you typed. Facebook uses those to work out whether you are somebody it already knows, so we can see whether our adverts bring anybody here. We send Facebook nothing from our own records: not your address, your visit history, your quotes, your cleans or your payments. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited is in Dublin and also holds the information in the United States. If you would rather none of this happened, choose “Essential only” on the banner, or press Cookie settings at any time to change your mind. Our cookie policy sets this out in full.
  • Google — only if you accept cookies. We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, which counts visits so we can see which parts of the site are used and where people give up on the quote form. Your browser tells Google which pages you opened, where you arrived from, and your IP address and browser. Analytics stores a random number in a cookie so it can tell a returning browser from a new one; it is not your name. We send Google nothing from our own records: not your address, your visit history, your quotes, your cleans or your payments, and nothing you type into a form. It is not used to show you adverts. Google Ireland Limited is in Dublin and also holds the information in the United States. If you would rather none of this happened, choose “Essential only” on the banner, or press Cookie settings at any time to change your mind. Our cookie policy sets this out in full.
  • Our accountants and professional advisers, and anyone we are legally required to tell.

We never sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

Quotes that do not become customers are kept for up to 12 months. Customer records are kept for the length of your service and then for 6 years, which is how long we must retain financial records. Contact messages are kept only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Customers can request erasure directly from the account area. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Cookies

See our cookie policy, which lists everything stored on your device and what each thing is for. Reading this site stores nothing; something is only stored once you start a quote, sign in, or answer the cookie banner.
